The concept

Each client's project is unique and has different requirements, so sometimes our pricing has to be adjusted accordingly. Products that are more difficult to photograph can cost more due to the extra time involved in making them look great. Anything with a very reflective surface, such as jewelry, or anything that is clear, such as glassware, require special lighting techniques which takes a bit more time. On the other hand, very basic products, especially when they are very similar in appearance, take less time to properly light and photograph, which will result in a less expensive project.

There are times that basic photography on a white background doesn't meet the requirements of a project - such as the image seen below. Good examples of these requirements are magazine ads, promotional postcards, any sort of a feature, print or web, where the product has to look its very best.

These sort of photos can be very simple, perhaps requiring only a custom background and creative lighting, or can be very complex involving travel to special locations, construction of elaborate custom sets, and composition of special effects elements.

Pricing for the type of photography shown in the photos above are based on the complexity of the shot and the amount of time it takes to complete. Cost is based on a fraction of our $760 daily rate. Pricing for creative photography can vary widely and starts at around $200 for a simple quality photograph, to much more when elaborate sets are manufactured. We'll be glad to prepare a custom quote for you if your photography needs require something more than a simple photograph on a solid background.
